We tell the right person, straight away
When something happens, the estate does not have to be watching. Linox sends a notification, and for anything urgent it calls the person on duty or reaches on-site security on the radio. The estate says who gets told and how.

Linox supplies the cameras, installs them, and maintains them. There is no project for the board to manage.

What it does once it is running
The cameras are the easy part. What the board actually notices is how quickly somebody can answer the question “what happened?”
Every vehicle in and out, on one list
Every vehicle is recorded with its number plate, the time, and which way it was going. If the estate has more than one camera, the same vehicle is linked across all of them, so you see its route through the estate rather than one snapshot. You look down a list instead of sitting through footage.
What the vehicle looks like, not just the plate
The make, model and colour are recorded, along with the things that actually make a vehicle recognisable — a roof rack, a bumper sticker, a dented panel, mismatched wheels, or paper trade plates. So you can still find it when a plate is dirty, obscured or missing.
When the plate does not match the vehicle
If a plate turns up on a vehicle it has not been seen on before, the system flags it. Swapped and cloned plates are common in vehicle crime, and reading the plate on its own will never catch them.
Ask for what you want in plain English
Type it the way you would say it — “white van that came in after ten last Thursday”, or “someone in a blue hoodie by the bin store on Tuesday night”. It works for people as well as vehicles, matching what someone was wearing and doing rather than who they are. You do not need a number plate, you do not need to know when to look, and you do not need to scroll through anything.
You decide what it watches for
The estate can add a number plate it wants to know about, along with a note of why it was added. If that vehicle turns up, the right person hears about it straight away. The list belongs to the estate, and only the estate can change it.
It tells you when it is not sure
Every reading carries a score for how confident the system is. Anything below the level the estate sets does not raise an alert, so nobody gets called out at two in the morning for a misread plate.

What does it cost?
It is a subscription covering cameras, installation and maintenance. It is priced per estate, depending on its size and the number of cameras.
Who owns the footage?
The estate does. Linox never sells footage or data.
Who can see it?
Only the people the estate nominates can see it. The police see footage only when the estate chooses to share it.
How is residents' privacy protected?
Cameras cover shared areas, not people's windows or gardens. Positions are agreed with the board before anything is installed. LINOX LTD is registered with the ICO, registration ZC175057.
Is our data shared with other estates or with a wider network?
No. What is recorded on your estate stays with your estate. Linox does not pool number plates or footage across sites, and does not share them with other customers, with businesses, or with any central database. The police see footage only when you choose to share it.
What is involved in installing it?
Linox surveys the site, agrees camera positions with the board, installs, and maintains them. There is nothing for the estate to build or run.
Make the estate a safer place to live
If it does not do what was agreed within two weeks, the estate pays nothing and Linox removes what it installed.
